Permanently Damages Orchid Tree?

I heard lots of chain saw activity this morning when the landscapers were here. I went out to the front and found my poor orchid tree nearly destroyed. I immediately made the stop, but I think the damage is done. I am wondering if my tree will survive? What can I do to help it? They cut away 3/4 of the tree including some main branches that were about 10 or 12 inches in diameter. The tree WAS very much alive, but had some dead leaves from a frost we incurred recently. We are in the Phoenix area. Please help. I am completely devastated. I have the gruesome photos if you need to see them.
