Is this well written? i am not sure i followed the format? can someone help me?

First, you should do a spelling/grammar check. I see several errors. Secondly, my wife is a college professor and hears this kind of stuff all the time. I'm sorry if you really lost your father, but sadly, people lie about this all the time so professors are very skeptical of ANY excuse students come up with. I'm saying that to say that it's best to be honest because your professor will know if you're lying. Lastly, if this is true, make your commitments more definitive (i.e. "I will sit in front" vs. "I will attempt to sit in front").
