Can Anyone help us out with our parakeets please?

Our male parakeet is terrorizing the female with wanting to mate all the time, like 24/7 IS IT OK? should we separate them 4 a while, coz the female is kind of running away from the male all the time she even pecks the male but he wont stop PLZ HELP
