How to not be depressed?
It sounds like you have reason to be depressed. Is there anyway you could get to a doctor to get some medication to help you through this rough time? I have been to counseling also and felt they were clueless to my problems which were I was molested as a teenager. It scarred me so bad that I was never able to have children of my own. Plus, my Mother took her own life in 1987. So, I have been to hell and back. I feel suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem. I made myself invent my own formula for being happy. I always try to have a positive outlook and smile on my face when I am out in public.It is contagious to other people and usually ends up putting me in a good mood even if I was not already in one. I try to only hang around with people who are upbeat. If someone wants to talk gloom and doom, I avoid them.I take care of myself by doing things that make me feel good...body lotion, good fragrance, a different necklace every day, and keeping my hair cut in a style I like. I try to do the best I can. It helps me to stay focused and keeps my mind occupied. Plus, if I am alone and having any anxiety, I grab some music and take off on a brisk walk. It helps clear your mind plus it is also good for your health by helping you to maintain your weight. I guess if you want to be happy, you have to create your own happiness and surround yourself with things you like! You can do it, I am sure. Take care and good luck!!
