How long should I expect to bleed after a c-section?

I had a c-section two weeks ago today. I am still bleeding the same amount as I was 3-4 days after the surgery. I don't have any clots anymore. But it is still the dark red color. All of the books I have read say that it can take up to 4-6 weeks after a l delivery. The nurses at the hospital told me about 2 weeks after a c-section because the doctor suctions it out really well. The books also say that the color should have changed by now to a light pink or yellow color. Can anybody shed some light on the issue?
