Why did so called strong Indian army take 77 days to end Kargil Conflict & that too by Clinton's intervention?
In 1999 it took 77 days to end Kargil Conflict & that too by US president Bill Clinton's intervention to pressurise Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif. India used both infantry & air force with Miraj1000, five planes were shot down in Skardu zone. Even then, 5 peaks of that is still in occupation of Pak army, like Siachen with India since 1984 , intruded secretly, violating Simla Pact, 1972, not being part of Indian part of Kashmir. It is opined by improperly informed poor Indian public that India can end Pakistan within two weeks like 1971 war, ignoring fact that in that local public support to Pakistan was missing in eastern wing & there was no geographical link & so the supply line & reinforcement in d area 1600 km away & USSR too was fishing with India illegally. Kargil Conflict demolished the myth & made Indians realise dat enemy without using air force can do so.Pak stronger air force & nuclear weapon stockpile (since1976) prevented Indian dream forever. Isn't that reality?
