Which piece of Beethoven?

i am wondering if anyone knows which piece of music it was which beethoven wrote when he was in love with a woman who did not love him back. i don't know the name but it is a piano solo and is on quite a low octave and is a bit depressing tbh! its the one which has a drone sound which goes like | | || if that makes any sense. thanks in advance for any answers. i know its a long shot!
