Are Smith and Wesson 30 revolvers good guns?

I was thinking about buying a S&W 38. I can't remember the model number but it is small, good for conceal carry and it can handle the +P rounds. I already have a Glock semi auto but I wanted something else for days when I'm wearing light clothes. This gun looks small enough to carry in the pocket of my shorts.
